The Résidence Le Crystal is located on land that was first occupied in 1950 by the Fréchette family, who opened a motel there. In the 1990s, Réjean Ouellet transformed the site into the Auberge de la Grande-Baie, with 41 rooms for tourists. From 1993 to 2007, the inn was run by Jérôme Gagnon and his wife Marie-Rose Marcoux, and it achieved great success, particularly due to the La Fabuleuse show. In 2007, Patrice Coupry, a Frenchman, acquired it but had to close the inn in 2012 due to market difficulties. In 2013, Louis Côté bought the Auberge and partnered with the LOKIA Group to open a private residence for seniors, catering to intermediate resources. The residence opened its doors in July 2013 with 14 intermediate resources.
