Inspired by Holland's "alzheimer's home" concept, the private residence for seniors (RPA) Maison L'Étincelle, Verdun welcomes seniors in cognitive loss. It also has an intermediate resource at the top level for residents in loss of autonomy. The residence offers to its residents an all-inclusive package, which is designed to meet their particular needs. It has multiple homes, Jardin which has 10 units and Éthel and Strathmore houses offering 13 and 19 units respectively. There is a common living room and a dining room in each home. Note that the common areas are air-conditioned. There is also a balcony by wing. At the 6th floor, you have a breathtaking view of the beautiful city of Montreal. You will find there, security, care as well as many activities and hobbies.

Near a park, this residence will please you, since it has a prosthetic unit and offers quick access to services. Everything is designed so that the resident feels at home, if he wishes, he can garden in the backyard, fold the laundry, etc.

It offers a '' lifestyle '' atmosphere and services tailored to the needs of its residents, such as: 3 meals / day plus 2 snacks, telephone line, cable, bedding maintenance, room and clothing maintenance, hygiene care, clothing assistance, drug distribution. In addition, the residence offers 24/24 permanent security, as well as a minimum of a nursing assistant, present at all times.

    Ma mère n’y étant que depuis 3 jours, je ne peux donner qu’un avis partiel. Je complèterai quand j’en saurai davantage. Je peux dire cependant que le personnel est gentil et à l’écoute. C’est le plus important pour moi. On a pu décorer la chambre de maman selon ses goûts. Elle se couche et se lève à l’heure qu’elle veut et ça aussi, c’était important pour elle et nous. Le souper est un peu trop de bonne heure mais peut-être que ça peut se changer. C’est à voir. Les activités sont très bien et la coiffeuse sur place a fait une belle tête à maman.

    La qualité des soins prodigués est tout simplement remarquable. Ma mère se sent en sécurité et bien entourée, ce qui me donne une immense tranquillité d'esprit. Les éducatrices sont non seulement compétentes mais aussi d'une grande humanité, prenant le temps d'écouter et de répondre aux besoins spécifiques de ma mère avec une patience et une gentillesse remarquables. Je ne saurais trop exprimer ma reconnaissance envers vous tous pour le travail formidable que vous accomplissez chaque jour. Votre dévouement et votre engagement à offrir un environnement sûr et stimulant pour les résidents atteints de TNCM sont véritablement louables. Vous avez transformé ce qui aurait pu être une période difficile en une expérience positive et enrichissante pour ma mère, et pour cela, je vous en serai éternellement reconnaissant.
